Vermont Educational Opportunities

Vermont is home to some 24 institutions of higher learning and while it is 49th in terms of state population, it is sixth out of 50 states for percentage of residents with a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Business Facilities magazine ranked Vermont sixth in the nation for education of its workforce and first in educational climate.

The University of Vermont is a centerpiece of the state’s higher education system, and hosts a world-class medical school.

The state system of colleges is augmented by a variety of community colleges and private institutions including Middlebury College; Norwich University; Marlboro College and Champlain College.
